For Charleston, Berkley, Dorchester, & Colleton Counties Only
The Living History Group offers schools K-12 a South Carolina Social Studies curriculum based program for your classroom on the following topics:
We provide you with a qualified historical interpreter who will dress in the clothes of the time period (archaeology & slavery programs excluded) and bring various articles of equipment and artifacts with them and present a program in your classroom on that topic that meets the state curriculum standards for that time period. We will also provide you with post-visit materials for your class that will include activities and Internet field trips.
We can do these programs for a single classroom or spend the day at your school doing these programs for an entire grade level by rotating in and out of classrooms.
Cost of these programs is $5.00 per student with a minimum of 30 students for a single program. We can do smaller groups easily, but there will be a flat fee of $150 for any group less than 30.
This is a great alternative to an expensive field trip and will save you and the school both time and money.
These programs were created by Craig Hadley, who created the acclaimed educational programs at Drayton Hall on the American Revolution, Colonial Slavery, the Civil War, and much more. All of our interpreters are professional historical interpreters by trade with a college degree.
